INVITATION
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Conference co-organized by the School of Education Sciences of the University of Crete, the Institute of Greek Language of the University of Western Macedonia and the Postgraduate Programme "Sciences of Education" (Thematic Unit "Language, Society and Education") of the Hellenic Open University on the topic: "Language, Education and Artificial Intelligence".
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of the conference is to foster interdisciplinary discussions / interactions among academics, researchers, and educators on contemporary issues in Greek language teaching, education, and digital interactive technologies. Specifically, the Conference aims to shed light on theoretical approaches and research aspects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the virtual era, emphasizing their impact on the teaching of the Greek language, Pedagogy, and Education.TARGET AUDIENCE
This conference welcomes participation from academics, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students whose research aligns with the conference theme. Additionally, students and teachers at all levels interested in presenting teaching practices, scenarios, and educational proposals utilizing Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are encouraged to participate.

PLACE AND DATE OF THE CONFERENCE
The conference will be held in Rethymnon at the School of Education of the University of Crete, located at the University Campus of Gallos, from 10 to 12 May 2024. The conference will also be broadcast online.

*Fee payment is mandatory for each work submitted by the presenter and is paid only by the person who will make the presentation.

TYPES OF CONTRIBUTIONS
Presentation
Each session will last 90 minutes and will include 4 consecutive presentations of 20 minutes each. At the end of each session, 10 minutes will be given for questions on the previous announcements. The announcements must follow the time order defined by the program, even if the presenter is absent so that the attendees can move from one session to another if they wish.
Poster
Posters will be displayed in a specified place and for a specified duration. The author should be in front of the poster during the thematic session. The size of the poster must be 0.80 cm x 1.20 cm (vertical) and be legible from a distance of 2 meters.
Symposium
Each symposium will last 90 minutes and will include presentations around a common theme. The thematic symposia are organized by the president of the symposium and include 4-5 presentations and speakers-discussants. The president of the symposium, who can also be a speaker, has the responsibility to submit the title and abstract of the symposium, the names of the speakers-discussants and the full papers of the presentations.
Round table discussion
Each session will last 45 minutes. Presenters are expected to present and discuss the topic of their presentation with the audience. For the submission of papers-proposals, the organizer should send a general abstract, where the presenters and the titles of their presentations will be mentioned.
Workshop
Each workshop will last 45 or 90 minutes. In case a workshop is presented by one person it must last 45 minutes. In workshops that include several presenters, one of them must be designated as president.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
For oral presentations, poster presentations and workshops
The length of the abstract should not exceed 300-350 words including the authors' affiliations and keywords.
Abstract fonts should be Times New Roman 12 with full alignment and single-spacing.
The title of the abstract should be in Times New Roman 14 font in bold.
At the beginning of the abstract, the author(s)' affiliations (surname, first name, title, school/institution and email address) should be given in 12 font. The name of the presents should be written first.
3-5 keywords should be written at the end of the abstract.
For the symposium and the round table
The abstract should not exceed 700 words including the details of the presenters and the coordinator.
The font of the abstract should be Times New Roman 12 in full alignment and single-spaced.
The title of the abstract should be in Times New Roman 14 font in bold.
At the beginning of the abstract, the details and affiliation(s) of the presenter (s) should be given in 12 font (surname, name, title, school/institution and e-mail address).
The name of the symposium coordinator(s) should be written in bold.
3-5 keywords should be written at the end of the abstract.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Abstracts are submitted to the submission system located on the conference website.
- Abstracts may be submitted in Greek or English. The authors may, if they wish, submit their abstract in both languages.
- The language of the presentation is declared in the relevant field in the submission system of the conference site.
- Each author is entitled to participate in the conference with two papers.
- Information on the full text will be posted on the conference website shortly.
