Athanassios Michalis has studied linguistics in the Philosophic School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His PhD dissertation concerns the planning and organizing the L1 grammar learning and instruction, while his post-doctoral research is about the L1 errors analysis. His research focuses on the L1 teaching methodology in secondary education, fostering functional, social, critical and digital literacy practices, using digital technology in L1 teaching, L1 errors analysis, exploitation of critical discourse analysis in language teaching, discourse grammar. He has published a big number of articles in scientific journals, conference proceedings and collective volumes.
